SUCCESS TO DATE
Scott County United supported the development of Scott County’s first economic development strategic plan by helping initiate the planning process, coordinating partners, and supporting stakeholder engagement. The organization played a key role in ensuring the plan was informed by data, community input, and regional context, and that it reflected long-term priorities related to economic opportunity, workforce readiness, site preparedness, and quality of life. This work provided a shared framework to guide future decision-making and align efforts across the county.
Scott County United participated in the development of the Bluegrass Region’s economic strategic plan by engaging with regional partners to strengthen continuity and competitiveness across Central Kentucky. Working alongside Commerce Lexington, local leaders from neighboring counties, and economic development professionals, SCU helped contribute local perspective and collaborative input to a regional framework that identifies key competitive factors, future opportunities, and actions needed to support economic vitality, job creation, and workforce development across the region. This participation reflects Scott County United’s commitment to aligning local efforts with broader regional priorities that support long-term opportunity and quality of life for Scott County residents.
WHAT'S AHEAD
In 2026, Scott County United will continue advancing key priorities identified in the county’s economic and regional strategies by working closely with regional partners and stakeholders. This includes ongoing collaboration with neighboring counties, economic development organizations, and public and private leaders to implement shared actions that support site readiness, workforce pathways, housing, talent attraction, and enhanced community opportunity. Through these collective efforts, SCU aims to strengthen long-term economic resilience and quality of life for residents across Scott County and the broader region. This will include working with the Georgetown/Scott County Plan Commission and their new Comprehensive Plan.
