Quality of life

WHAT WE DO
We focus on the factors that make Scott County a strong place to live, work, and thrive—housing, infrastructure, workforce needs, amenities, and long-term community wellbeing.
SUCCESS TO DATE
Scott County United played an active support role in the Georgetown Main Street revitalization by funding independent engineering oversight for key infrastructure improvements. This work included coordinating the relocation of utilities behind buildings, installing new street lighting and buried conduit with brick pavers, and overseeing the milling and repaving of Main Street. These improvements were designed to strengthen the functionality, safety, and visual appeal of downtown—supporting long-term economic vitality and enhancing the overall wellbeing and quality of life of the community.

WHAT'S AHEAD
Talent attraction is a key priority for Scott County United in 2026. Supporting a strong and competitive workforce requires attention to the full ecosystem that influences where people choose to live, work, and play. This includes advancing initiatives that strengthen housing (availability and affordability), increase access to childcare, and expand workforce pathways and training opportunities, and improve overall livability—helping ensure Scott County remains an attractive place for employers, employees, and families now and in the future.
