WHAT WE DO

We analyze key issues, provide informed guidance to partners and decision makers, and support strategies that contribute to a strong, sustainable future for Scott County.

SUCCESS TO DATE

The Scott County Industrial Forum was established in 1989 following early leadership and coordination by Scott County United. Created as a confidential, peer-to-peer forum for manufacturers, it provides a consistent space for industrial leaders to identify shared challenges, exchange insights, and collaboratively pursue solutions that support a strong business climate and quality of life in Scott County. Scott County United provides support for the Forum, helping coordinate meetings, facilitate dialogue, and connect industry leaders with relevant partners and resources. Over more than three decades, the Forum has contributed to meaningful outcomes related to infrastructure improvements, workforce development, training initiatives, public policy engagement, and operational collaboration that benefit both employers and the broader community.

Scott County United supported the creation of the Georgetown–Scott County Revenue Commission (GSCRC) to help improve efficiency, consistency, and service in local tax administration. Prior to the Commission’s establishment in 2003, three separate offices collected occupational and net profit taxes in Scott County, creating administrative complexity for local businesses. By supporting the merger into a single commission, Scott County United helped advance a more streamlined, business-friendly approach to revenue collection—reducing duplication, improving compliance, and strengthening a critical revenue source that supports essential community services and long-term quality of life across Georgetown and Scott County.

WHAT'S AHEAD

In 2026, Scott County United will prioritize supporting the Georgetown–Scott County Planning Commission as it moves from planning to implementation of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan. This includes helping align partners, resources, and initiatives with the Plan’s goals to ensure growth and development decisions remain consistent, coordinated, and beneficial to the community. By supporting implementation efforts, Scott County United will help advance responsible economic and civic outcomes that reflect community input and strengthen long-term quality of life across Scott County
