WHAT WE DO

We support efforts that attract new employers and employees, help existing businesses grow, and expand opportunities across all sectors of the local economy.

SUCCESS TO DATE

Lanes Run Business Park is a strategically planned business park in Georgetown/Scott County designed to support a diverse mix of employers while balancing economic diversity with community character. Developed to provide affordable, competitive, and shovel-ready sites, the park accommodates light manufacturing, office, research, technology, professional, medical, and training uses within a campus-style setting that emphasizes open space, buffering, and environmentally sensitive design. Located on more than 350 acres, Lanes Run serves as a natural transition between industrial and residential areas and prioritizes businesses that align with regional workforce needs, entrepreneurship, and long-term sustainability. Through phased development and continued infrastructure investment, Lanes Run Business Park plays a key role in supporting employment, diversification, and economic vitality in Scott County.

Scott County United plays a key role in planning, supporting, and advancing the Lanes Run Business Park as a long-term economic asset for Scott County. The organization helps coordinate partners, support site readiness and infrastructure planning, and align the park’s development with broader economic and community priorities. Its focus is on ensuring the Business Park supports employment, diversification, and the long-term quality of life for the community.

WHAT'S AHEAD

Phase III of the Lanes Run Business Park expansion is moving forward in 2026 with approval of the construction contract and funding plan. In December of 2025, the Georgetown City Council authorized a municipal order to proceed with Phase III construction after identifying funding through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative (KPDI) with matching contributions from Scott County Fiscal Court, the City of Georgetown, and Scott County United. With a contractor selected, work will extend infrastructure and prepare additional sites.
